Excursions
Palaces, porcelain and vineyards — the finest day-trip destinations around Dresden, all easily reached from our hotel.
Discover Saxony — from the hotel
Around Dresden, the Saxon Elbland awaits with palaces, manufactories and vineyards. From our hotel right on the Elbe you can reach the finest destinations in next to no time — by car, S-Bahn, historic narrow-gauge railway or, in true style, by historic paddle steamer.
We’ve put together four favourite destinations for you: the „Weißes Gold“ (‘White Gold’) in Meissen, wine & sparkling wine at Schloss Wackerbarth, the fairy-tale Schloss Moritzburg and the royal summer residence Schloss Pillnitz.
We’re happy to advise you at reception on travel, tickets and opening times — and to plan your day out entirely to your wishes.
- Meissen
Porcelain manufactory & old town - Schloss Wackerbarth
Experience winery in Radebeul - Schloss Moritzburg
Baroque palace & Cinderella - Schloss & Park Pillnitz
Royal summer residence
Tip: several destinations combine well — Wackerbarth, Moritzburg and Meissen all lie in the same Elbland north of Dresden.

Meissen — Staatliche Porzellan-Manufaktur (State Porcelain Manufactory)
Europe’s „Weißes Gold“ (‘White Gold’) up close: in the show workshop you’ll see step by step how a work of art is created from kaolin by hand — and discover the full variety of Europe’s oldest porcelain manufactory in the showroom. Plus the Albrechtsburg and a romantic old town.

Radebeul — Schloss Wackerbarth
Europe’s first experience winery, set among vineyards and Baroque elegance: a tour of the glass-walled manufactory, the view from the Belvedere over the vines to the Elbe, and a tasting of Saxon wines and sparkling wines to finish.

Schloss Moritzburg
The Baroque hunting lodge on its island in the lake — with the world-famous Federzimmer (Feather Room) and as the original filming location of „Drei Haselnüsse für Aschenbrödel“ (‘Three Hazelnuts for Cinderella’). Four round towers, a warm-yellow façade mirrored in the water and a spacious park: a fairy tale for the whole family.

Schloss & Park Pillnitz
The summer residence of the Saxon kings between the Elbe and the vineyards: Baroque chinoiserie, magnolias in bloom in spring, Dresden’s only Classical domed hall — and, especially atmospheric, arriving by historic Elbe paddle steamer.
